In the 90’s the shop evolved into a wholesale business for wedding, birth or any other small party gifts. Creative entrepreneurship is essential to the Vanhalst-Larridon family. Consequently, Jenny and Lieven passed on this tradition to their children. Sophie and Frank joined the business early 2000. Both of them brought their own fresh ideas to the family business. They sold the remaining retail activities and established bb collections® in 2002. The brand represents the transition from traditional wholesale to consumer focussed product development. As from that year, Vanhalst started to create their own ranges of small gifts under the bb collections umbrella, focussing on the birth and wedding gifts market in Belgium.
In 2015 Vanhalst introduced Atelier Pierre accessing the international market of ‘living accessories’ offering young Belgian designers a platform to create their first range. Entering the international stage for the first time, new customers rapidly showed interest in the cute, fresh and playful designs from the Vanhalst creative team. Hence the fundamentals for an Atelier Pierre Junior collection. Next to miffy, AP Junior presents César, Balthazar and several more
characters, too cute to handle. Atelier Pierre Junior is already an absolute must-have collection.
