Atelier Pierre believes that meaningful design evolves alongside us. Some objects become part of our daily routine and subtly shape the atmosphere around us. This year, the Dentelles collection is embarking on a new chapter. The new Dentelles are entering a new era, featuring flexible multi-kelvin lighting. The same character and look, the same recognisable shape, now with even more control over the mood you wish to create.

Dentelles came to life in 2021, inspired by the delicate lace doilies that Lieven Vanhalst, son of ‘Pierre’, and Jenny Larridon, founders of the West Flemish family business Vanhalst, used in their pastry shop in the 1970s. Designers Paulien and Kaat translated this nostalgic memory into a modern design object. It is therefore no coincidence that the French word ‘elles’ appears in the name, referring to ‘les filles’ – the two designers. Wireless, dimmable, suitable for indoor & outdoor use, and made from 100% recyclable polyethylene: the original Dentelles met almost all the requirements.

The new Dentelles introduces multi-Kelvin lighting – a first for Atelier Pierre – offering even greater flexibility than ever before. Whilst the original model already featured four dimming levels and a ‘fix’ mode to lock in your preferred brightness, the new Dentelles now gives you full control over both brightness and colour temperature. With an additional button, you can choose from three light colours: a warm, candlelit amber for intimate dinners (2400K – Cosy), a balanced, everyday glow (2700K – Balanced) or bright daylight for the breakfast table (3000K – Bright).
A new built-in battery indicator on the bottom of the lamp ensures the atmosphere never fades unexpectedly. As always, the Dentelles remains wireless, rechargeable via USB-C and easy to dim with a tap on the top or using the ON/OFF button on the bottom. Whilst lighting technology evolves, the essence of Dentelles remains the same: thoughtful Belgian design, sustainable materials and a focus on cosiness.
The new collection is available (coming soon online) in 5 sizes, all with a white shade. Each lamp has a metal base, which is available exclusively in a gold finish across the entire range. Every lampshade is still made from 100% recyclable polyethylene. Alongside this Dentelles Gold range, Dentelles Earth remains available in three sizes, with a beige shade made from 30% recycled polyethylene and its distinctive chocolate-brown metal ring.
Dentelles evolves alongside the moments we create. From long summer evenings on the terrace to quiet mornings at the breakfast table: the same iconic shape still sets the tone, but now adapts even better to every atmosphere.
