Creativity through the years...
The story goes back to the life of Lieven Vanhalst, who, together with his wife Jenny Larridon, established himself as a pastry chef in Izegem in 1968. Since Lieven and Jenny knew few people there, they decided to add christening sugar and accompanying packaging to their assortment. Many young people quickly found their way to their christening sugar shop and patisserie.
Later, in the 1990s, a wholesale business was added. And since creative entrepreneurship has been passed down for several generations from parents to children in the Vanhalst-Larridon household, son and daughter Frank and Sophie also joined the company in 2001.
They brought a breath of fresh air to the family business. The retail activities were sold, and the company, under the brand bb collections, transitioned from a classic wholesaler to a dynamic enterprise in the market of birth, communion, and wedding gifts, general gifts, and small packaging.
With Atelier Pierre, Vanhalst has also been present in the 'living accessories' market since 2015. It soon became clear that the gifts created by Vanhalst designers invite people to cherish and display them. And with an exclusive license to work with the iconic figure "nijntje" (Miffy), the foundation for a beautiful Atelier Pierre Junior collection was quickly laid.
